In response to the prevalent issue of modern isolation, NearMe’s CEO conceived an innovative app that seamlessly blends outdoor activities with meaningful connections. Starting from a raw concept, our team transformed it into a dynamic, user-centric app, securing essential funding for a successful launch.
Recognizing the importance of user-centered design, we allocated a day within our tight schedule to conduct user research, ensuring the product’s alignment with our target audience of young adults aged 20-30.

Discovering new outdoor activities online is a challenge for many, with limited and outdated options.
People hesitate to join activities they find online due to the fear of feeling awkward or lost in larger groups.
People tend to choose outdoor activities that are nearby or easily accessible to them.
Following research insights, we crafted some sketches, allowing us to intuitively and strategically plan the app. Simultaneously, the developers laid the foundational groundwork based on our sketches. Subsequently, we progressed to the final design phase.
The homepage features a dynamic map and activity stories, providing social proof while informing users about the number and distance of activities. This approach is designed to spark user engagement and infuse the app with a vibrant energy.
The activity page unfolds in a half-open drawer format, revealing all pertinent information up front. Its enables users to effortlessly navigate through activities, revealing additional details only when the initial information proves relevant to their interests.
The arrival groups feature allows users to connect in small groups and share a ride or just walk together before the activity starts. This encourages introductions and making the experience less awkward and more natural.
We concluded the design phase with approximately 30 screens for two flows, and the team couldn’t be happier with the results. Currently, the project is in the testing phase with students in the USA. Our CEO, noted that despite being in the early stages, the pilot participants are finding the app super convenient and user-friendly. Positive pilot results could be a major boost for startup funding.
